Day 1
Arrival at the airport of Porto. Transfer by minibus to a four-star hotel in Vila Real. Depending on your time of arrival, an information meeting will take place this afternoon or after your breakfast on day 2.

Day 2
After breakfast you will be picked up for a city tour through Vila Real. We will visit the main attractions by foot. Then we go to "Casa de Mateus", well-known for the Mateus rosé wine, where you will get a English-guided tour of the palace and visit the gardens. We have lunch in a typical restaurant which serves local cuisine. After lunch we go to a splendid viewpoint over the Douro Valley - UNESCO World Heritage - and continue to a dam near Régua. Our last visit of the day is a to winery, where you will get a tour of the wine cellars followed by a Port tasting.

Day 3
This day is dedicated to the Douro - the famous Port region. We travel by train to a beautiful, undiscovered place near the river, surrounded by the hills with vineyards of the famous Port brands. After lunch in a traditional restaurant, we go on a boat trip on the river. We then arrive at the town of Pinhão, where you can enjoy the landscape in the heart of the Douro region before we return to the hotel.

Day 4
We get up early to go for a walk in the natural park of Serra do Alvão. With a guide you walk through the mountainous landscape with rocks, forest and small streams. After a short break in a cabin, we visit an authentic village. Then we proceed in this mountain area with the minibus and will stop for a picnic in the great outdoors, in nature with local products! We end this day with a visit to the greatest waterfall of the region.

Day 5
Departure from our hotel in Vila Real. After a short tour through Régua, you have time to explore this beautiful city along the Douro river (a visit to the Douro Museum is included). After your lunch we continue to a viewpoint where you can already see the next city we will go to: Lamego, and have a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape. After our arrival in Lamego we will first bring you to your new accommodation (a small scale, traditional Quinta with good facilities, where you can relax and unwind). Next you will get a tour of the highlights of the city. We will have dinner in the centre of Lamego.

Day 6
Today we take you to several unique historical villages around Lamego. First, we visit a village with the only remaining fortified bridge of Portugal, which has a bridge tower. Our next visit is to the factory and cellar of the most important Espumante brand of Portugal, where you will get a guided tour and have a tasting! In the next village we can see an old Jewish quarter and we will have lunch in a local restaurant with traditional dishes. This afternoon we visit the ruins of the first Cistercian monastery of Portugal. Then we return to your Quinta.

Day 7
You can spend your last day in Lamego as you prefer. Of course you can also enjoy the swimming pool or other facilities at the Quinta. In the evening we conclude this tour with a farewell dinner.

Day 8
Departure from Lamego. Transfer to the airport of Porto for your return flight.
